Man with strong Asian accent, Tried telling me I had a virus, explained I ran an IT company and were partners and resellers for various firewalls and anti virus vendors and it was extremely unlikely I had a virus. Still kept on coming ! Told him I was terminating the call due to possible fraud attempt. Those most vulnerable not in the know such as pensioners much at risk from having their data stolen or a virus implanted which would then be used to extract more money from them. Surprised was a uk number unless using voip trickery
-
I had fun with this. Pretended to cry as was so upset that my computer had viruses, mimicked his accent, started singing I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts really loud and eventually he hung up :D
-
The whole thing is a scam. They keep on calling even after I have literally told them to F off. I have reported them to the fraud incident agency through the police help-line. Please spread the word , they are undoubtedly using many numbers too.
-
Answered phone, saying PC John Doe speaking, they just hung up.

We've been called scores of times by this number, but there is never anyone there and calling back merely results in the information that the caller's identity has not been called
-
silent call.

Why waste peoples time life is short.
-
they called about a year ago, trying to make me go onto their website so they could control my laptop and "discard any viruses". Obviously i didn't let this happen and spent half an hour pretending I was crying my eyes out at the thought of my laptop being infected. Don't fall for the trap!
-
silent call regularly calls me don't know who it is
-
I've been receiving calls from this company twice, sometimes 3 times a day for months and it's driving me crazy. They have even been abusive. Registering with TPS has not helped yet but it takes 28 days to fully stop this type of call - really hoping it works.

This abuse really need stopped right now! I am so annoyed because of this number and the shocking bill I will receive from our 0800 number provider!
Scarsdale News replied 2014-04-19 14:02:15I get a mixture some about the virus they say is infecting my Computer, I can understand that scam. But others are just silent. What are they up to? -
They have been ringing us at least once a day (often more) for months. Caller always has an Anglo-Saxon name and heavy Asian accent. We tell them we don't want to do their survey and we want our number removed but they never do. We're on BT's TPS but that doesn't seem to make any difference, even though we've reported them.
-
They call several times a day and hang up as soon as I answer! So annoying!

Claim my car had been involved in an accident. I kept insisting it hasdn't & they lost interest.

This number has called me multiple times over a few years!! They always say there is a problem with my computer. They called a while ago and said the usual i am calling urgently about your computer bla bla bla i interupted her by saying " i know what you will do, you will tell me my computer has viruses and my computer is sending error messages i then give you access to my computer where you supposedly will fix the problem then you not only charge me a s*** load of money but also have access to my personal information" she then replys "no no.." i say "oh ok then what will you be doing??" at which point she goes "uhhh" and slammed the phone down. I though i had scared them off as i hadnt recieved a call in a while but lately had a few missed calls and they called this morning so i told them i dont have a computer. I think if they call again its best to make it as difficult as possible its obvious the phone companies arent doing anything. i have called them to report it in the past but nothing ever came of it. Dont let it get you down turn it into a game have a laugh with it they may get the message that we are not stupid.

I got a call from this number today, the phone line was really bad so I kept saying hello and he was saying something I couldn't hear then just shouted an obscenity down the phone and hung up on me! In absolute disbelief. Is there any way of blocking numbers or reporting them? They call at least twice a day but I usually don't pick up the phone.

Computer mass dialer, at this stage has probably dialed most of the UK judging from complaints.
This is a SCAM to extract your money and obtain your Bank details.
It is the age old 'your computer has a virus' scam. -
Scam to get you to put your computer on-line and give them access so they can steal information or plant malware. I have some fun by asking them which of my seven computers is causing them the problem and could they give me the IP address. They soon get fed up!
-
Silent and rang me multiple times.
it's mentioned on the Thames Valley Police newsletter too - nearer the bottom.

Indian sounding man, told me that someone had phoned from my number and had had an accident, alarmingly I asked who and he hung up, be very cautious! Unfortunately my phone does not show incoming numbers, but now wish it did as this was shocking to hear
FedupUK replied 2014-04-09 20:02:25They've just done exactly the same to me.
Said his name was John and I'm like "If you're John, I'm Sanjay"
I'm ex directory and only had this number for 3 weeks....
He wouldn't tell me where he got our number from. Hung up when I wouldn't tell him if I had had an accident or not.
-
was told I had £3,000 owed to me because I took out a loan with unfair insurance. Told him I was ex-directory and preferential dialling and would report him and to take my details off their data base.

Had 2 of these calls in 2 days now. First call after the Indian lady how gone through her spiel of how she worked for Microsoft and wished to warn me that my pc had been hacked, she hung up instantly when I told her I was a microsoft employee. Today an Indian gentleman rings and gives exactly the same word for word dialogue as the previous call. When I asked him for details of his name and company address, he asked me why, I explained that obviously if Microsoft are monitoring my pc without my agreement, then I should surely be contacting my solicitor to discuss this invasion of privacy by his company. He then tried to bluff his way out of this by saying that I had agreed to this monitoring within the licence agreement of the operating system, to which I then asked him why on earth would a Linux end user licence have a clause to allow Microsoft to monitor the activity on my pc, at which point he hung up. 15 good minutes spent stringing this guy along, at least means he has less time to annoy other users :)

Indian/Pakistani accent woman phoned at 10AM today telling me they were calling about my pc showing errors and if I could go to the computer, they would tell me how to stop them. They seemed to go quiet when I told them :
"Yes, please tell ME what I can do for YOU as I am a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and I know what my computer is doing right now"...
Avoid them like the plague and hang up or they will get ALL your account details and access to everything on your PC. -
This number calling today in Cardiff area. Also another 02031 number.
-
Chap with indian/pakistani accent called Jack allegedly from microsoft. Not the first time I have received such a call. So I told him to go away and I hung up. What a parasite. Older folk might believe him and get into a lot of difficulties as a result

scam call, been getting them for over 2 weks now, indian/pakerstan, person, trying to take your details, for ppi, tech support, had alsorts for this numbers. bloody pain, as my number should not be getting nauisance calls, sign up to tps. that doesn't seem to work.
-
"Your software license has expired/been hacked by unknown." Which computer? "Your home computer" I have three. "The Windows 7" I have two with Windows 7... And so the lies went on.
This is quite clearly a scam. -
I was called by a lady with a heavy Indian accent who said I was entitled to PPI back due to having taken out a loan (that I have no recollection of!). This was 5 mins after a 'survey' from international number (chap with heavy Indian accent). I played along with the survey and said "no" to each question, but still received calls! This one was put through to Katie at media marketing. Katie said the company that put me through to her was attempting to set up fraudulent claims for PPI in exchange for commission! The woman from India had coached me to give all the right answers to media tactics questions, but thankfully all the details (date of birth, address etc) I have to Indian call centre were fake! Avoid these calls!
0203 129 1891 replied 2014-04-15 11:29:11Why didn't you just hang up? -
told me it was a call about my computer... i said "if i can stop you there i know you're a con artist and i am informing the
police" the heavily indian accented man then seemed to panic and hang up. -
