AMORC3339 replied 2016-08-13 16:14:13Also from 01404814843 - SCAM AND DANGEROUS - BLOCK THIS NUMBER - Claimed to be from 'Windows' as there is a problem with my PC. I told him I had six , all running VMware as I worked in Cyber Security so it would be nice to exchange views on the benefit of remote connection packages and stealth connections and he said 'Goodbye' and hung up!

Man from India trying to gain access to your computer by getting you to type in certain things. Knew was dodgy from start, had fun with it for a while then told them where to go - not politely!
Pat replied 2014-06-16 10:55:12Same Microsoft Windows Security scam as Neil reported. They called me on 10 June 2104. Should be stopped - many people will fall for it.Chrissy replied 2015-01-21 14:08:45a friend of mine got caught out not realising. Luckily they didn't get into his bank and he had support to reset everything but there will be many out there who don't and probably won't even tell anyone as they will think it is their fault. There should be a way to trace these numbers surely? -
This number (and others) is a proxy which is to say a number that foreign companies can use to look like they're calling from within the UK.
Some will be "legit" organisations trying to sell you a 'No Win, No Fee' claim or someone wanting to help you claim back PPI. Some will ask you o complete a survey, the results of which they'll sell on for marketing.
Some individuals though will use proxies for scams, phishing and other illegal activity. This is not just one company. -
Had a call from Jack saying he was from the Financial Services Agency. I was owed £1950 because I had overpaid a loan. He confirmed my details. He then asked about the "loan". I gave false details - I have no such loan. He said a supervisor would ring me back. I am awaiting the call. Judging by his accent and the time delay in responding Jack was clearly making the call from an overseas call centre.

This guy rang the wrong person and has now got so many viruses on his computer, one of them will cripple his system as he I T knowledge was very limited.
Steven replied 2015-02-23 12:37:58Would love to know how you can send them a virus for future reference.
I wouldn't do it from my current laptop because it has bank details in it but with the next one I would be very tempted -
Microsoft Windows Security scam. As they had not been given my mobile number, it didnt take a rocket scientist to realise it was a scam of some sort. I strung them along for ages, as they were paying for the call, and even told them I had to answer the door twice. After about half an hour, with me chuckling at the inane things I asked them, and laughed even more when asked to hand over control of my PC to them, someone uknown butted in, swore at me in lovely Engish, telling me roughly, to go away ha haaaaa - BUT I guess many people will fall for it.

Automated call, from the first few seconds was clear that it was scum
-
Called about 10 times today without leaving a message. Hung up when I shouted at them to stop calling. Number now blocked but these @ssh0les keep changing their numbers.
-
Asian caller named Alan Cooper (!!!) from Widows whose English required interpretation. He told me there was a problem with my computer as it had been sending them error reports.
How this is possible I do not know but I kept stringing him along until he rang off. -
Has called several times on and off between9am and 9pm. Nobody says anything. No sound at all. Told them to sod off last time they called.
-
Just received call from this number, someone singing for about 3 seconds then hung up.
-

Indian calling claiming to be from Microsoft. Says that he has received lots of error messages and that your computer is being hacked. He then tries to gain access to your computer by getting you to log into a remote access site.
-

Left a message on my mum's ansaphone asking to speak to "Mr and Mrs Smith ". There is no-one with that name living at her house. When mum did not pick up the phone, they rang off immediately.
-
Answered call from this number, no one on the other end.
-
Nuisance call, won't give company details
-
Called my elderly mum saying he could stop harrassment calls. Knew where she lived etc. Knew she paid her phone bill by DD and wanted the last 3 digits of her debit card. Luckily she is wise enough not to give these out.
-
As I've blogged before, when they call do not acknowledge them, pick a well known company name and try to sell them something that company makes and keep up the sales patter !!
This confuses them -
Complete silence when you answer the phone.
Rings 4-8 times a day. -
Foreign woman claiming to be from the BT technical department. She told me my internet was going to go off, when I asked her why she hung up!
-
Call comes from someone with an Indian type accent stating they are from Windows and that he is calling because they are getting error reports that my computer is being hacked. He is very insistent that I should turn my computer on and that I should follow his instructions. I have had a number of these calls recently. They know my name and even the street I live on but they don't know the number (although they will try and get that from you). I usually try and string it out as long as I can. I have found that asking them to confirm my product ID code that I would have registered with windows is a good one. They seem somewhat surprised that I even know where to find it. These guys are relying on catching the unwary into giving them access to their computers. If you have the time, string them along but DON'T let them persuade you to 'run' a programme in that little box on the left hand side of the screen! They will gain access to your computer and all your confidential data.
-
Yet another call from a very "foreign" person wishing to talk to me about "my computer" - I told them didn't have a computer and they put the phone down. This scam has been going on too long - why has it not been sorted?
-
Fuck off. Then keep fucking off until you get back here, then fuck off again. Scammers allegedly from Microsoft. As a Microsoft engineer and ethical hacker I find this parasitic Asian shitscam highly offensive. Fuckwittery.
-

-

Judging by others' experiences this number is used by so-called Windows conmen and today by "UK Lifestyle". "Gavin" Indian (10.39) and an Indian woman on same number (08.20!) pestering me for another survey whereby they pass my number on to a host of other companies depending on what answers you give. Yes, I have even tried to be cooperative in the past. Big mistake. If the number can be pinpointed to Ammanford why can't BT cut it off?
-
This number called me today and a foreign gentleman tried to speak to me tellig me his name, his English was dreadful and I could not understand a word he was saying, so I told him so, and he put the phone down on me. How rude!
-
Sounded very foreign but the line was appalling so couldn't help him and asked him to ring back. Sadly he didn't bother....
:>)) -

This Indian man claims to be from Microsoft, stating that he will make sure ISIS Islamic State will firebomb my apartment because I wont let him access my computer! I asked him if he would send round cheese naan bread, pilau rice and lamb madras because I was hungry and as he was there at the time... I said I would look out for the elephant from his dirty curry shop. He has stopped calling because I get my calls screened before they are connected. Hope you read this Ghunga Dinner!
Forgot-to-mention replied 2015-09-10 12:35:49If you get a call from these degenerates talk in an indian accent and say "i do not talk Gujarti, Punjabi or BenGali" and then in American accent "Mola Ram you have betrayed Shiva!". If the calls are coming from USA its costing them a toll to call you, so get some entertainment value out of them, because if your getting calls from this scum, they probably hate you. They have treatened me for nothing! They keep calling in the night, early morning.Steven replied 2015-09-10 13:10:48Problem with just insulting them is that they get insults all day long, doesn't bother them, call gets ended very quickly but you are never taken off the list. Far better to stalk to them, pretend to be interested or stupid and string them along for longer, The calls tie up their phone lines and operators, the longer you talk the betterStraker replied 2015-11-01 21:32:09Love your humour, I's better to take the piss out of these sods then react to their banal comments. Wasting their time for as long as you can will really piss them off too.As they are tied up with you and not rooking some poor innocent. -
Called me at 00.57 July 29th 2015. Didnt answer as did not recognise number. No message left. I do not call numbers I do not know
