This is definitely an HSBC genuine number. I called the number on the back of my card instead and eventually was forwarded to the HSBC Fraud Department and some had spent £10,000 on my husband's debit card which was in his pocket all the time.

HSBC Fraud Team - confirmed genuine.
I rejected it and called the usual telephone banking number. They confirmed that this is a genuine HSBC Fraud Team number and that they had tried to contact me regarding some odd card payment attempts. -

I had my credit card transaction blocked for an online purchase earlier in the day for no reason. Contacted HSBC using a trusted number and they put it right. Got a call from this number later saying they were HSBC fraud prevention. They quoted half my postcode and asked me to confirm the rest, which I did. Didn't ask for more info. Said my Credit Card was now OK. Phoned the HSBC trusted number again and was put through to the fraud prevention dept who said the number is genuine HSBC. Even so, I only ever use trusted numbers from the back of the credit and debit cards.
The vendor says that the payment and order have been received and are being prepared for shipment. I'm keeping a close eye on my account for a while, as always. -

Claimed to be from HSBC. Saying someone has transferred money from my account and they have blocked it. stated my account has been compromised. when I challenged him with questions he stated he could not confirm any of my details as he did not have access to my account. He wanted me to read out my card number. Told him I will call my bank to check for myself, the then gave me a fake employee number. Bank Confirmed this was a attempt at stealing access to my account, they spoofed the real HSBC telephone number, be careful. also I dont have a HSBC account. he then tried to say it could be a other bank account linked to HSBC.
