Beware if your contract with BT is ending soon. These people do seem to be officially from or on behalf of BT but on the pretext of checking my broadband service they offered me a free piece of equipment to make the service better. If I had said Yes to it I realised I was also inadvertently signing up to a new 24 month contract (my current contract ends in May 2024), which the caller admitted I would be doing. He did say that if I took out the new contract my payment would not go the annual increase on 31st March and urged me to sign up before that date, however the monthly payment he quoted was close but not exactly the same as I am paying. I told him I had until May to look for other providers and deals and would not be automatically resigning with BT. Underhand dealings, not a good way to do business.

Keep getting these calls, claims to be BT but when challenged admits to ringing on behalf of BT. Does know who the BT account holder is as specifically asked for him. I suspect the details have been leaked from BT.

Claim to be BT for an upgrade, the English person on the phone made me think it’s legit but it is %100 a scam, I phoned BT back on the number on my bill and they said it’s a scam, they had my contract end date wrong, also they ask for a 4 digit pin they text to your phone, BT NEVER ASK FOR A SECURITY CODE THAT HAS BEEN TEXTED TO YOUR PHONE!!! THIS SCAM NEARLY GOT ME! NOT BT
